According to a statement from the Ulriksdals Wärdshus restaurant, thieves cleared out 600 bottles of wine, some dating as far back as the early 1900’s, after cutting the phone lines and knocking out the alarm system, on the night between July 22 and 23. They also broke through a security door and an armored glass door.
The wines, from the six Grand Cru vinyards Chateau Lafite Rothschild, Chateau Mouton Rothschild, Chateau Latour, Chateau Margaux, Chateau Haut Brion, and Chateau d’Yquem, are reportedly worth around 490,000 dollars.
According to the restaurant, the collection was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s most unique.
